Rolling Ball Sculpture 16.6

Background: This piece was one of my first automatic wall mounted sculptures, and It really surprised me how fast it sold. Demand for wall mounted sculptures seems to overshadow demand for tabletop pieces.

Details: This sculpture is built upon a sturdy stainless steel base with a spiral lift In the center constantly returning marbles to the top indefinitely. Mounted on the bottom there is an easy to access lift speed adjustment knob and plug.

Upon reaching the top of the spiral lift the marbles enter a splitter leading into two tracks, one of which quickly drops into a Triple Loop-de-loop (The predominant feature) before getting launched into the lift entrance. A really cool part of the sculpture is watching the spin of the marble slow itself down after exiting the loop (My favorite part). The second route gently meanders throughout the sculpture and loops, mesmerizing watchers while sudden bursts of action come through the loops. If you slow it down enough the onlookers will be very eager to see each marble come off the lift, and it can add to a very cool ambiance while being quite compact.
