Rolling Ball Sculpture 17.2

$1,500

Background: This piece is one of my only to feature a hardwood base, I wound up borrowing a neighbors table saw to make the mitered bow lol.

Details: This was my largest standalone sculpture, Its about 3 feet tall and wide. It certainly grabs attention and keeps it with mesmerizing tracks and compelling features. The stainless steel double helix "DNA" structure is mounted on a beautiful handmade Maple and Walnut hardwood base with a motor speed adjustment knob bolted on top.

Once the marbles reach the top of the spiral lift they reach a splitter leading into two tracks, one of which has a hardwood collector that holds up to 5 marbles, building up one by one before releasing them into the spiraling track. The other track falls into a second splitter, making 2 more tracks. The first of which rolls down into a double loop de loop before jumping into the collector at the bottom, while the other meanders and spirals around the sculpture and its stainless steel "DNA" form (My favorite part).
